01 · What I build

The public face of the house: what someone finds when they look you up, and what they feel in the thirty seconds before they decide whether you are serious.

Everything is written for the house it belongs to. Nothing is assembled from a theme, which is the only reason it can look like nobody else and still load faster than everybody else.

How it runs

  1. 01

    Conversation

What the house actually is, who it sells to, and what the site has to make happen. Usually one long conversation rather than a questionnaire.

From youAn hour, and whoever carries the story of the house.

  2. 02

    Structure and words

What pages exist, in what order, and what each one says. Written and agreed before anything is designed, because a beautiful page around the wrong sentence is still the wrong page.

From youCorrections. This is the stage where your voice gets into it.

  3. 03

    Design

The typography, the space, the pace. Shown as real pages in a browser, not as flat images, so what is approved is what gets built.

From youOne decision-maker. Design by committee is where houses lose their voice.

  4. 04

    Build

Built for real: both languages, right-to-left where it belongs, fast on a phone on a bad connection, and correct for search engines without a plugin.

From youPhotography and any assets, as early as possible.

  5. 05

    Launch

Domain, hosting, certificates, analytics, redirects from whatever came before. Nothing is left for you to configure.

From youAccess to the domain. That is all.

  6. 06

    After

A period of watching how it is actually used, and fixing what the first real visitors reveal.

From youNothing. This part is expected.

Where it stops

  • No page builders, no themes, no template bought and reskinned. If that is the budget, the honest answer is that someone else should do it.
  • Photography is directed, not shot. A house that photographs badly cannot be rescued by a website, and pretending otherwise wastes your money.
  • No ongoing social media, no content calendar, no advertising. Those are real disciplines and belong to someone who does them properly.
  • No shop that undercuts the room. If the sale genuinely happens in person, the site is built to bring people to it rather than to replace it.

A house of fine jewellery, rebuilt around the object rather than the catalogue.
